The visit of the Professor of Tuscia University, Nobel laureate 2007, longstanding partner of The Agrarian Technological Institute of the RUDN University, Riccardo Valentini

 In September 2016, The international conference «Megacities 2050: environmental consequences of urbanization in Europe» has become a platform for discussing issues of sustainable urban development landscape architects, politicians and the world's leading scientists. Made an important contribution to the work of this conference Professor of Tuscia University (http://www.unitus.it/), Nobel laureate 2007, longstanding partner of The Agrarian Technological Institute of the RUDN University Riccardo Valentini. He has gained an international reputation for research in the field of ecology, biochemical cycles of elements and modeling of climate change. Valentini led the largest research projects of greenhouse gas flows in Europe, Africa, USA: EURASIA-NET, CARBOEUROFLUX, CARBOEUROPE, CARBOAFRICA, CLIMAFRICA with a total budget of over € 50 million.

For his scientific achievements R. Valentini in 2007 was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize as part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC https://www.ipcc.ch/). He is also a winner of other prestigious international awards : Norbert Gerbier-Mumm International award, the European Research Council, the European Ecological Federation, Max Planck Medal, Ernst Haeckel and the title of «Europe 2015 Best Ecologist». According to the «Thomson Reuters» R. Valentini is one of the most cited scientists in the world (188 publications in Scopus and WoS, H-index of 59). 

R. Valentini gave lectures and master classes to the students and professors of ATI RUDN University and promoted the process of academic mobility between RUDN University and the University of Tuscia, Second University of Naples (https://www.unina2.it/) and the National Research Council in Rome (https://www.cnr.it/en). He also promoted opening of master's double degree program in English between Universities. 

Also R. Valentini is part of the scientific committee of the 9th International Congress for the Study of «Soils of Urban, Industrial, Traffic, Mining and Military Areas, SUITMA», which will be held in the RUDN University in May 2017.
